So, Friends, most of you (if not all of you) know that I am going to Cambodia on a mission's trip this Summer.
Another thing you should know is that we leave on Thursday.
*screams*
I've never even been across the ocean before, let alone across the ocean to a foreign country that I didn't even know existed up till recently. I'm so excited. I can't wait.
That was not sarcasm.
Our plans have changed A THIRD TIME and they were just finalized yesterday. The (current) plan is to spend our main four days of ministry in Crocodile Village, putting on VBS for the kids, teaching the moms to sew, etc. But knowing my Designer, He'll probably see it fit to change our plans while we're there.
We leave from DIA on Thursday morning at 7:15 (yay) (and yes that was sarcastic). After twenty-two hours of travel with layovers in LA, Tokyo, and Bangkok, we will arrive. A group is going to minister to some prostitutes the second night we get there. We're going to tour S21 and Angkor Wat and visit a little market. But the ministry is done in the village. I hope we get to see crocodiles.
Mom and I have decided not to take Malaria meds. Our reasoning is that God protected Rack, Shack, and Benny from the fire, so He can keep us safe from Malaria.
I'll be leading worship for VBS once we get there. I'm also on the red games team which is going to be awesome.
Am I ready? No. Am I beyond psyched? Checkyes. I don't speak Khmer, I've never been to Asia, and I've never even really gone camping. But my Designer told me to go. And who am I to argue with Him?
Also, for those of you who were praying, the missionary who lives there and was sent to prison was recently released and now has an awesome testimony.
Please pray for us while we're gone. We get back on the 22nd and that's quite a while to me. But I am excited. Pray for health, safety, and open hearts of the Cambodian people. I'll be sure to post pictures when I get back :)
I love you all!
