I have one, currently. Her name is Shruti and we sponsor her through Gospel for Asia. She is the most adorable little girl from India who just recently sent us a letter in her cute broken English.
I'm getting another soon. I don't know his name, how old he is or even what he looks like. But I do know that he is a he and that we will get him at the beginning of the school year.
We are going to sponsor a cadet and I am beyond excited to do so.
We live in southern Colorado, near the Air Force Academy. Not all of the students there come from Colorado, and they don't have families here. So we're doing this thing where we write out for a cadet who will basically join our family. He'll eat dinner with us and go places with us and watch football with Dad and play sports with Ma. He'll do everything a big brother would do except live with us.
We're hoping to get a freshman, so he can stay with us all through his college career. There's a very detailed process to sponsor a cadet; you need a background check, two letters of recommendation, etc.
But I am still so excited. I've always wanted an older brother and now I get to have one.
*does happy dance*
Please pray that he's a strong Christian and that he fits into our obnoxious family :)
That is too funny. My mom participates in this program called Women for Women, and she sponsors women in Rwanda and such. I recently told her that I'd love to find an organization where I could sponsor a kid somewhere, because I think that would be amazing. And then you do a post about sponsoring a girl across the world! How funny is that?!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to look into it! Thank you!
Yeah we do it through Gospel for Asia but Compassion International is another big one :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Thanks so much for the info. :) I really appreciate it!
